In dit pand is niet de "Merckthoeve"gevestigd. Het staat wel naast dit restaurant. Het restaurant zelf is gevestigd in de voormalige boederij van Janus en Mieke Leijten-Kemps. Dit restaurant en ook de direct aan de Oude Urkhovenseweg liggende oude paardenstal en korenschuur, beiden
gerestaureerd, kunnen gebruikt worden voor feestpartijen.
Naam: Peter van Ierlant
Merckthoeve in Tongelre medio jaren 60 van de 20e eeuw. De Merckthoeve aan de Oude Urkhovenseweg is een langgevelboerderij uit 1744. Reeds in de middeleeuwen kwam de naam 'Merckthoef' als leengoed voor. Na de verbouwing in 1832 kreeg het pand de huidige vorm. Onder het zadeldak bevinden zich fraaie raampartijen met kleine roedenverdeling, voorzien van luiken. Naast de hoeve stond ooit een bakhuis dat voor velerlei doeleinden werd gebruikt. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog was de boerderij enige tijd als gaarkeuken in gebruik voor doortrekkende geallieerden. In 1980 werd de boerderij volledig gerestaureerd. Het is tegenwoordig een restaurant.
